Outline of Final Research Achievements

We considered if Hokkaido has food and energy self sufficient, or not. We analyzed self-sufficient potentials in each sub prefecture and economic region of Hokkaido. After that, Hokkaido will achieve if we establish alliance among regions and complement mutually. For establishment of self-sufficient structure with low carbon society, we have to consider the next elements: 1. recycling and intensive usage of biomass in rural area, 2. to establish organic product and energy complement, and ecosystem service complement system via rural-urban alliance.
