Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Because of the stroke medical care support of depopulated areas in Okayama prefecture, we devised a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year of the remote location system, the head MRI and CT images of stroke patients in the hospitals of depopulated areas are delivered to the iPhone and iPad that urban Okayama city stroke specialist is carried and specialist reply the stroke diagnosis and treatment to the doctors in depopulated areas. From September 2013 the systems have been introduced into Sakakibara Hospital and the 3 hospitals in Niimi city as remote location, and the stroke specialist in Kawasaki Hospital as urban area. In the questionnaire survey to the stroke specialist absence of 133 hospitals in Okayama, stroke patients have been transported to the specialist hospitals, hospitals of 44% replied that telemedicine was not necessary. Currently, 10 hospitals are being introduced and preparation. The system may be able to provide the latest treatment for stroke patients in depopulated areas.
