Outline of Final Research Achievements

We evaluated the relationship between peripheral blood adenosine triphosphate (ATP) concentration and mortality in critically ill patients. In critically ill patients, ATP concentration was lower than that of healthy subjects. ATP concentration may be better predictor of mortality compared with plasma lactate level. Especially combination with acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE) II score may predict patients' outcome more precisely.
