Research Abstract |
We have established a fabrication technique of a sprit ring resonator (SRR) tuned at the same resonance wavelength to that of a semiconductor quantum dot in the near infrared wavelength region. By using the nano-scale patterning with the anodic oxidation of substrate with an AFM probe tip or with the electron beam lithography methods, we can successfully control the position of the quantum-dots cluster with a ten-nanomenter scale near a SRR on the substrate. The significant enhancement of luminescence intensity was observed for the quantum dots near SRR structures compared with the luminescent intensity of the quantum dots without structures. We have also developed a numerical simulation program to analyze the electromagnetic interaction between the quantum dots and SRR and obtained useful information to understand experimental results.
