Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research was conducted for developing activities that utilize outlines and to examine their practical application. First, a modelling program was planned and implemented with the cooperation of preschool teachers. Then, data reduction and analysis were performed. The results demonstrated that a natural combination of appreciative and expressive activities stimulated the children’s spontaneity for pictorial expression. We concluded that a tendency for encouraging the children’s pictorial expression was necessary. Although the use of colouring books has not been particularly attributed much educational value until now, it is an activity loved by most children. Thus, examination of educational practice that incorporates outlines in actual classroom education is believed to be an unexplored area in preschool and art education. Therefore, it has considerable significance as a new method of instructional support in classroom settings.
