| Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements |
約半月、約１年という24時間よりも長い周期の「インフラディアンリズム」を示す動物を独自の着眼点から選別し、既に同定した概半月時計や概年時計の候補遺伝子等を足がかりに、それら時計の設計原理の解明を目指す独創的かつ学術的に重要な研究である。インフラディアンリズムの分子メカニズムの解明により、月と季節がヒトの生理機能や疾患に影響するメカニズムの理解が進むことが期待される。
