Scientific Significance and Expected Research Achievements

地形学の先端技術の土層発達モデルを用いて、流域における土層厚や透水性の空間分布特性を明らかにし、それを反映する流出モデルを開発して格段に精度の高い出水予測を行おうとする研究であり、現地調査データが整備されていくことでこの分野の発展につながるなど波及効果が高い。本研究により、洪水現象の時空間分布を高精度にシミュレーションできるようになり、洪水予報の実務に寄与することが期待される。
