Outline of Annual Research Achievements

申請者のグループがこれまで世界をリードしてきた2電子系原子の量子気体研究の成果を踏まえて、光格子中2電子系原子気体を用いた量子凝縮相に関する独創的な物性研究を格段に発展させることを目的とする。具体的には、イッテルビウム(Yb)原子量子気体のハバードモデルを実装し、「トポロジカル量子物理」、「量子磁性」、「新奇超流動現象」、「非標準型格子の特異なバンド構造」、「不純物問題の量子シミュレーター」、などの研究を行う。さらに、「量子気体顕微鏡」の開発により、光格子の超高空間分解能「その場」観測を実現し、量子凝縮相の研究における全く新しい可能性を開拓する。
本年度の研究実績として、上記の研究目的に向けて、予想以上に順調に研究を進めることができ、具体的には、まず実験面では、171Yb原子の2軌道SU(2)系の性質の決定、光格子中でエントロピーをスピン配置への再配分によるフェルミ同位体173Ybの光格子中での超冷却、ボース・ハバード系のクエンチ後のダイナミクスの解明、リープ型光格子の平坦バンドへの強く相互作用するフェルミ粒子の導入、などのような成果を得ることができた。
理論面では、ワイル超伝導・超流動状態における創発的カイラル電磁場によって誘起される新奇量子現象、ワイル準粒子に固有のカイラル異常に起因する熱応答や超流動流の性質を解明し、また、スピン3重項クーパー対由来の新奇磁気トルクの性質を解明した。
実験グループとの共同研究では、「制御可能な二体損失項を持つBose-Hubbard模型」に関する論文を出版し、「Bose-Hubbard模型のクエンチ・ダイナミクス」の実験結果をテンソルネットワーク法(1D)と切断Wigner近似法(3D)を用いた理論解析を実施し、定量的に説明することに成功した。
