Outline of Annual Research Achievements

『チェルノブイリ原発事故における放射能汚染地域において放射線降下物の発がんリスクを評価する為、放射線感受性・発がんに関わる素因と交絡因子を分子疫学的に明らかにし、放射線被ばくで生涯続く晩発性甲状腺発がん関連遺伝子群を明らかにする』ことを目的に、チェルノブイリ周辺3ヶ国での甲状腺がん検診、術後患者の症例掌握と生体試料収集管理を推進し、ドイツWurzburg大学核医学のライナー教授らと連携でがん患者の追跡調査を行い、関与する人材交流、現地研究者招聘訓練を行ってきた。11月9日には「「甲状腺がん研究の最前線；チェルノブイリ、福島から」をテーマに国際研究集会を主催し、11月10～11日には、IAEAと長崎大学主催で広島大学と国立シンガポール大学協力、外務省後援の第二回国際専門家会議「核医学、放射線、健康に関する科学技術社会学の展望；アジアからの視点」を開催した。2016年1月にはWHO-ITB専門家会議で原発事故の対策を協議した。最終年度としてSNPs研究成果をIAEAやWHOジュネーブ本部と共同で公表し、放射線被ばくによる甲状腺がん以外の発がんリスク評価の準備を行った。福島原発事故の健康管理調査事業における集団リスク評価による放射線防護基準の妥当性の検討に加え、放射線個人健康リスク評価に向けた新手法を開発、福島との分子疫学や病理の比較を行い、現地及び国内において開催された国際チェルノブイリ甲状腺がん会議から得られた情報の公開と論文発表を促進した。
