Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have been studing on a morphological analysis of classical Chinese texts based on MeCab. In this applied study we have investigated on extracting named entities from classical Chinese texts, especially names of places, names of official titles, and names of persons. As a result we have succeeded in extracting names of places perfectly. For extracting names of official titles, we have proposed a method to build up long titles. We also have succeeded in extracting surnames of persons from classical Chinese texts, but we could not construct effective methods to extract forenames of persons.
