Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research project is a following project of the Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A), titled as "Local Government Survey in Southeast Asia: Comparison among Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines," implemented from 2009 to 2012. In this project, social survey was conducted with local government elites, both elected and bureaucratic,to collect data in 3 respective countries.
This research project deepened analysis based on the above-mentioned collected data, by identifying local capability as dependent variables. Series of presentations were repeated at various academic conferences and research meetings, both domestic as well as abroad. Simple totaling were finished for the Philippines and Indonesian data, on which many papers are based. As for Thai data, while simple totaling was finished for the elected elites, only data cleaning was finished for bureaucratic elites.
