Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Our research group had studied the history of economic methodology in Britain with the aid of JSPS’s grant and published a book on that theme. But in the process of that study, we found it necessary to explore other disciplines in order to understand the whole facets of economic methodology. More specifically, we thought we should take into consideration the related disciplines to economic methodology such as philosophy, ethics, natural sciences, etc. On such an understanding as ours, we worked out this time, i.e. philosophical, moral, sociological and scientific ones, and attempted to investigate into how economic methodology had developed in the history of economics in connection with these dimensions. Although eventually we came to focus on not four, but three dimensions, we intend to publish a book on this scheme.
