Outline of Annual Research Achievements

前年度終盤にイメージングレーダー機能付加装置が昭和基地に持ち込まれたが、現地で他レーダーとの干渉・混信の発生等の（イメージングとは無関係だが同一観測機器運用上の）問題が生じ、この問題が完全な解決にまで至っていないことから、イメージング観測の取得に問題が生じているが、この問題の解決の為の調整、及び初期データ取得の為の準備をさらに進めた。
平行して、レーダー観測から抽出された地磁気脈動データによる電離圏高度観測による磁気圏領域同定の試みの研究が継続して進められ、SCに伴う特異な脈動現象の研究についての論文発表がなされ、磁気圏領域同定へ繋がる研究を一歩進めることができた。また、オメガバンドオーロラの衛星地上観測による新しいmorphologyの研究も精力的に進められ、論文投稿がなされた。また、2016年12月20日に打上げとなったERG(あらせ)衛星の最も重要な地上連携観測網との位置づけともなっているSuperDARNレーダー観測について、様々な衛星地上共同観測研究の立案が活発になされ、我々の高時間分解能観測を活かした、地磁気脈動の高時間分解能観測によって、内部磁気圏でみられる、高エネルギー粒子加速に重要な役割を担っているEMIC波動を電離圏高度で捉える可能性の議論を更に進めた。また、SuperDARN研究を進展させる為に、全レーダーデータのデータベース化とSummary plotの作成、更には、二次元global極域電場ポテンシャルマップ図の作成とそのデータベース化を始め、SuperDARNデータと他観測機器との比較検討、共同研究の発展を効率的に実施できるようにすることができた。

Current Status of Research Progress

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.

Reason

本年度後半には、研究代表者が第58次日本南極地域観測隊夏隊に参加して昭和基地に赴いたが、同一のSuperDARNレーダー観測に関わることながら、本研究課題テーマとは別の空中線老朽化による一部故障の為の空中線更新の為の基礎工事という屋外作業（及びその準備作業）に大半の時間を割かざるを得ない状況となったこと、昭和基地での他レーダーとの混信問題も完全な解決に至っていない事から、イメージング化観測データの取得に支障をきたす事態となっている。しかし、共同研究者・連携研究者らによる解析研究や手法開発等の研究は国内で地道に継続発展しており、総合的にはやや遅れている状況と判断する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

本研究課題最終年度にあたり、イメージング化の観測結果取得とその解析結果を引続き進めると共に、高時空間分解能観測や電磁圏領域同定、MI結合、中性風データ解析等の解析研究を進め、高時空間観測によって得られる新しい知見について研究成果発表に注力し、れまでに実施されてきた研究の総括を行う。

Causes of Carryover

重要な成果発表及び情報交換の場となる国際SuperDARN Workshopへの参加者及び旅費が未確定であったこと、および、人件費の勤務日数の変動などから、支出が減少したこと、また最終年度にあたり、国際SuperDARN Workshopへの参加者および旅費が申請段階で未確定であり、また研究加速の為に適任の研究者と技術補佐員各1名の人件費確保も必要となること、等の理由から、繰越可能な助成金の一部を翌年度に繰越すこととした。

Expenditure Plan for Carryover Budget

例年開催となる重要な国際SuperDARN Workshop2017がイタリアでの開催と決まりこの出張旅費や参加費にあてること、及び、研究加速の為に計画途中から雇用を開始した研究者および技術補佐員の引き続いての雇用の為の人件費、また、必要に応じて研究打合せや成果発表の為の旅費、及び成果物発表の為の投稿費用として重点敵に使用する計画である。

国際SuperDARNの一翼を担うSENSU昭和基地SuperDARNレーダーの情報や共同研究の為のデータ提供の為のWeb頁、及び、国際SuperDARNに参画する国内3PIの研究機関を含む5研究機関による日本SuperDARN comminity(SD Japan)の為の情報提供、共同研究、データベースの為のWeb頁。
