Outline of Annual Research Achievements

平成26年度に引き続き二次イオン質量分析計の調整と基礎実験をおこなった。今年度は、二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP IIe）を用いた分析のための試料調整や分析法に習熟した特任研究員を雇用し、長時間にわたる連続U-Pb分析の安定性の評価とイオン比から原子数比への新たな更正法の検証を行い、測定の効率化と精度の向上に取り組んだ。
これまでに得られた成果を日本地球惑星科学連合2015年大会（2015年5月、幕張）、第12回国際地学シンポジウム（同7月、ゴア（インド））、日本地球化学会年会（同9月、横浜）、日本地質学会年会（同9月、長野）、第１回日韓SHRIMPワークショップ（同9月、広島）、第12回ゴンドワナ国際シンポジウム（同10月、筑波）、第6回極域科学シンポジウム（同11月）、変成岩・変成作用国際シンポジウム（2016年3月、岡山）において発表し、関係者と議論をおこなった。
また、新たに導入した改良型マルチコレクターを搭載した二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP-IIe/AMC）を用いて、酸素同位体分析の精度・確度の検証を行うとともに、オーストラリアから技術者の来訪を受けてマグネシウム同位体やホウ素同位体分析手法の立ち上げを行った。オーストラリア国立大学のIan Williams教授との共同研究によって、Low Field Tesla Tamerを用いた軽元素の同位体分析の精度向上のためのテストをおこなうとともに、飛騨帯の花崗岩・片麻岩試料、南極セール・ロンダーネ山地の炭酸塩岩、南極ナピア岩体の太古代超高温変成岩中のジルコンの酸素同位体組成の高精度分析、また、アパタイト中の17OやOH分析などに取り組んだ。

Reason

実験室の工事と新しい装置の設置に伴って、既存の二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP）の停止と一部解体・再設置・再調整作業がおこなわれたことに伴い、予定していた研究計画にやや遅れが生じている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

平成28年度は、引き続き二次イオン質量分析計（SHRIMP IIe）を用いた分析や試料調整に習熟した特任研究員を雇用し、高精度U-Pb年代分析と複数回にわたる微量元素存在度分析、酸素同位体分析を一連の分析として行う試料調整法の確立ならびに定常分析化を図る。その上で、研究成果の取りまとめをおこなう。

Causes of Carryover

本研究は、既設の二次イオン質量分析計を用いて同位体の分析を行い、成果を取りまとめる予定であったが、研究開始後に二次イオン質量分析計の更新が認められた。そのため、実験室の工事と新規二次イオン質量分析計の導入と立ち上げ作業のため、当初計画の遅延と変更が生じ、未使用額が発生した。

次年度における未使用額の使途内容として、研究補助者を雇用して遅延している分析の実施と研究成果の取りまとめをおこなう。
