Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this research, I have clarified the meaning and functional features of Japanese grammatical forms in Edo era from the viewpoint of contrast with Contemporary Japanese. In addition, I reconsidered the concept of modality which is complicated in discussion in previous research. Furthermore, in order to secure the variety and quantity of Edo language materials, I also made corpus of ninjyobon and sharebon.
