Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This research shows the effect of immigration on the native generational welfare through the various pay-as-you-go pension systems by incorporating the costs of assimilation borne by the next generation. Especially, the host country can get the positive net benefit under the defined-return-ratio pension system. This result is quietly different in the literature. We also show that the inflow of migrants can improve the welfare of both the young and the old generations in the host country under the looser conditions that characterize the Bismarckian system compared with the Beveridgian system.
