| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We examined the expression of senescence-related protein, macroH2A1, in actinic keratosis (AK), Bowen’s disease (BD), and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) by immunohistochemical analysis. Immunoreactivity for macroH2A1 was greater in AK than in BD and SCC. We suppose that AK may progress to SCC by escaping from the state of senescence and the pathogenesis of BD may be different from that of AK.
