Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The relationship between the degree of shyness and behavior at first meetings was investigated. The results indicated that people with high explicit shyness did not have sufficient skills for first meetings and showed emotional responses, such as getting nervous, or losing the composure. Consequently, they did not display active behaviors, such as asking questions, or broadening the scope of the conversation. Based on the above findings, this study collected information in advance, by using SNS of meeting partners, and examined the effect of such information on skills useful for promoting smooth communication at first meetings. The results of experiments indicated that aspects of shyness, such as tension, sensitivity, and lack of self-confidence improved by reading blogs written by meeting partners in advance, through simulating conversations at the first meeting.
