Outline of Annual Research Achievements

(1)磁石法によるゲート高速化、同位体制御Siによるデコヒーレンス圧縮により量子ゲート忠実度99.93%(世界最高値)を達成した。この値は、誤り耐性閾値を超えただけでなく、超伝導ビットに匹敵する値として世界的に注目されている。この他3重GaAs量子ドットによるCPHASEゲート、交換相互作用の制御による高速化法を開発した。さらに、準安定状態を利用した量子もつれの高忠実度(99.5%)読み出し、3角形3重量子ドットの新構造開発に成功した。
(2)表面弾性波で動く量子ドット中の2電子分離効率を正確に評価するため、電流雑音測定系を改良したが、未だ必要な精度には達していない。
グラフェンのクーパー対分離に関して量子ホール状態を介した超伝導流に集中して取り組んだ。異なる形状のジョセフソン接合の超伝導流を測定し、接合幅の増大による超伝導流の抑制を観測した。これは端へのクーパー対分離を支持する。
(3)並列二重ナノ細線と超伝導体の良質なジョセフソン接合で各細線の弾道的電子輸送のゲート制御に成功した。また、ドットを介さない1次元電子系でのクーパー対分離を初めて実証した。InAs細線の電圧電流特性からラッティンジャー液体の特徴を観測し、定量評価した。BiSbTeとAlのジョセフソン接合の超伝導電流のゲート操作に成功した。バッファ層厚の調整によりInSb量子井戸の高品質化を行った。欠陥由来の伝導を抑制することで、アンドープで高抵抗試料が得られるようになった。TEM観察でも貫通転位の抑制が確認できている。
(4)ゼーマン分裂軽い正孔の選択励起に成功し、単一光子偏光から電子スピンへの量子転写をスピン閉塞の実時間単発読み出しにより実証した。また、もつれ光子対源の狭帯域化を行った。重い正孔からの高効率量子変換を目指し、(110)GaAs量子井戸による横型単一量子ドットを形成し、電荷計による電荷検出に成功した。

2: Research has progressed on the whole more than it was originally planned.

Reason

(1)デコヒーレンスに関しては世界最高ゲート忠実度99.93%を達成した。これは、当初目標の誤り耐性閾値99%を大きく超えており、今後の同技術の発展性を担保する。また、3重量子ドットでのCPHASE、QNDの制御方法を改善し、前者では高速化、後者では高忠実度化の技術指針を得た。Si量子ドットでの忠実度は当初の計画以上の進捗、量子もつれ状態の高忠実度読み出しは当初の予定外の成果である。
(2)電子対の量子電子光学実験に関しては、電流雑音測定が難航しているものの、これは予想させた困難であり、引き続き取り組むことによって分離効率を評価できるはずである。
グラフェンを用いたクーパー対分離は、量子ホール状態を介した超伝導流のメカニズムが徐々に明らかになっており、端への分離を改めて示唆する結果が得られている。
(3)並列二重ナノ細線でのクーパー対分離の結果は、量子もつれ相関をもつ電子スピン対の新たな生成機構を示すほか、二つのナノ細線が異なるスピン軌道相互作用を持つ際にはマヨラナ粒子を無磁場で実現できるため、新たなマヨラナ粒子の実験舞台を提供する。非常に重要な結果である。また、BSTに関してもすでに超伝導電流が得られており、マヨラナ粒子の実証を目指したACジョセフソン効果の実験へとつながる。高移動度InSb2次元電子の実現と超伝導接合の作製は遅れているが、高品質化は着実に進展している。
(4)当初から提案の、光子からGaAs量子ドット電子スピンへの量子状態転写が実証できたことから非常に順調であると考える。さらに、光子対源の狭帯域化は量子もつれ相関の転写実験に繋がる重要な結果であり、やはり順調に進展している。当初予定していなかった(110)GaAs基板上の量子ドットの形成に世界で初めて成功したことで、高効率光子―電子スピン変換の道筋が経ちつつあり、もつれ変換にも貢献する成果を挙げることができた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(1)最終年度に向けて3重ドットを用いたCPHASE、QNDの性能評価、断熱遷移を利用した非局所量子もつれ、及びそれを基本原理とする量子テレポーテーション技術を開発する。また、5重量子ドットの電子状態制御技術の高度化と電子相関現象の探索、及びH29年度に達成したSi量子ドットでの量子もつれ操作の実現に取り組む。
(2)表面弾性波で動く量子ドット中の電子対を分離させる実験に関しては、より高い電流値(電流雑音値)が得られるようにIDTや高周波回路のデザインを変更し、低温アンプを組み込んだ電流雑音測定を新たに立ち上げて分離効率の評価に再び取り組む。グラフェン超伝導接合に関しては、ジョセフソン接合における量子干渉の磁場周期の異常の要因解明に引き続き取り組む。
(3)並列二重ナノ細線でのクーパー対分離の微視的機構の解明のため、超伝導体とナノ細線の近接領域をゲート制御できるデバイスを作製する。BiSbTeのジョセフソン接合で実現するSQUIDで電流位相関係の直接測定を行い、トポロジカル超伝導性が反映されていることを解明する。InAs量子細線では、量子井戸上のゲート制御した量子細線の測定からスピン軌道相互作用によるラッティンジャー液体への影響を解明する。来年度はドーピングの制御を工夫し、さらなる高移動度化を図るとともに、まずInSbポイントコンタクトの1次元伝導性を確認した後、超伝導接合を作製し、伝導度測定からマヨラナ粒子の探索を試みる。
(4)もつれ光子対の片方の光子を量子ドットに照射して量子状態転写を行い、電子スピンと光子偏光との間に量子もつれ相関を転写する実験を行う。実証には昨年度用いたスピンの単発読み出し法と光子と電子の同時検出法を用いる。(110)GaAs横型量子ドットを使って、重い正孔からの量子状態転写の実証を目指し、励起効率が軽い正孔励起に比べて向上することを実証する。
