超広帯域ミリ波分光システムによる銀河面分子雲のガス診断

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、多くの微量分子からのミリ波スペクトルの広域観測を推進し、微量分子放射の強度分布と、分子ガスの密度・温度・星形成活動との関連を統計的に調べ、巨大分子雲の物理状態・環境・進化状態、星形成活動との関連を明らかにする。そのために１．８５ｍ電波望遠鏡を使用して、数々な回転分子スペクトルを用いた銀河系内の巨大分子雲の、今までにない広範囲な観測を遂行する。導波管回路（偏波分離フィルター、帯域分離フィルター）を駆使することにより、広帯域分光観測で常に問題になるキャリブレーションの不定性を原理的に低減できることが大きな特長である。平成２７年度の観測により、230GHz帯の微量分子での観測が実現可能であり、巨大分子雲の環境・進化状態を探る上で重要であると判断し、230GHz帯での微量分子の観測を推進することとした。昨年度・本年度は、高感度受信に重要なSISミクサの調達が困難であったため、230GHz帯の導波管型分離フィルター、および両偏波受信機システムの設計・製作に集中した。12CO(2-1), 13CO(2-1), C18O(2-1)スペクトルだけではなく、CH3OH, SO, c-C3H2, CS等の微量分子の同時観測が可能な専用の周波数フィルタの設計・製作を行った。また、並行してALMA望遠鏡をもちいた大小マゼラン雲での巨大分子雲の観測的研究も進めており、銀河系の巨大分子雲の物理的性質の違い、それが大質量星形成に与える影響等の研究を推進している(Saigo et al. 2017等)

Reason

平成２７年度年度に230GHz帯での複数の分子の検出に成功したことから、230GHz帯の導波管型分離フィルター、および両偏波受信機システムの設計・製作に集中した。製作したシステムを2017年の春季に搭載し、試験観測を行う予定である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

平成27-28年度に作成した受信機システムを平成29年度の春季に望遠鏡に搭載し、試験観測を行う。夏季は大気の状態が悪く観測できないが、秋季・冬季には試験観測を進め、シーズン中に本格的な観測を開始したい。
