Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、顔認知のばらつきのメカニズムとその形成過程を、異文化間で比較する試みを行う。顔認知のばらつきは個人差の研究や発達障害児を対象として表情認知の際の脳活動を計測する研究を行った。注意欠陥多動性障害における治療前後での表情認知の際の脳内活動の違いについては、現在論文執筆中である。また、眼球運動や近赤外分光法（ｆＮＩＲＳ）を用いて顔と音声の視聴覚統合であるマガーグ効果や表情カテゴリ判断の際の文化的な相違について引き続きデータ収集中である。これらの研究は昨年度の大きな成果である、生後７ヶ月の乳児を対象に眼球運動から顔認知の文化差の発現を調べる実験の継続実験である。２０１６年７月に刊行された「Ｃｕｒｒｅｎｔ　Ｂｉｏｌｏｇｙ」に掲載された研究では、東アジア文化圏と西欧文化圏の女性の微笑みと悲しみという異なる表情を観察する際の、眼球運動を計測し比較した。実験の結果、西欧文化圏の乳児は口の周囲を、東アジア文化圏に位置する日本人乳児は目の周囲を観察するという違いが観察され、これは、共同研究者が以前発表した、西欧文化圏と東アジア文化での表情認知の文化差と同じ傾向を示すものである。これまでの研究から、生後７ヶ月から既に成人と同様の文化差を体現していることを明らかにすることができた。この眼球運動を用いて顔認知脳力を調べる手法と、その文化差の発現過程を調べる手法から、表情カテゴリの文化差の解明へと研究を進展していく。
