Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study is regarded as an initial academic step aiming at enhancement in both mobility for elderly people and traffic safety and hereby consists of three themes below. 1) The major road and traffic factors have been extracted by statistical analysis of accident records, data of road structure and alignment and traffic data mainly focusing on the sections with large number of accidents. 2) Assuming road traffic environment with higher accident risk, this study has attempted to clarify the both positive and negative impacts of driving assistance systems using ITS. 3) This study has attempted to investigate travel behavior and needs for mobility especially of elderly people at the area with lower LoS of public transportation services in addition to the risk recognition of traffic accidents.
