| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
1)ヒトてんかん患者における侵襲的計測による広域周波数脳波解析（DC電位、高周波律動(HFO)の記録解析：a) 臨床データでDC電位に能動的と受動的DC電位の概念を導入することが実データに基づき成功した。b）てんかん発作時DC電位とHFOの出現様式の違いを明らかにし、発作間欠期にもDC電位様の緩電位とHFOが同時出現し、その分布がてんかん原性領域に一致することから、発作時のみならず、発作間欠期にもグリアとニューロンの病的相互作用がてんかん焦点に存在する可能性を示した。多数例での解析を効率的に進めるために緩電位とHFOの共起を自動検出するプログラムを開発し、視察の結果と一致することを示した（国内学会発表）。c）sLORETAを用いた発作時DC電位、HFOの３次元電流源推定を少数例で行い、HFOよりもDC電位の電流源が画像・脳磁図による病変とより合致することを明らかにした（国内学会発表）。d）低周波数と高周波数の相互作用を位相振幅カップリングの手法で解析し、正常・てんかん原性皮質ともに覚醒時と比較して徐波睡眠期に異周波数間結合が強まった。以上から、DC電位の発現機構のグリアとHFO発現機構の神経細胞群の関係を難治てんかん患者データで明らかにでき、てんかん焦点では発作準備状態の神経細胞にグリアが発作開始を惹起することが強く示唆された。
2)ミクロ電極からの記録：ピロカルピン投与でのラットのけいれんモデルと、てんかんモデル動物（常染色体優性外側側頭葉てんかんモデルラット）におけるミクロ及びマクロ脳波記録に着手し、てんかん発症過程において、グリア細胞のカリウム緩衝機能の障害を免疫組織化学的に明らかにした（国内学会発表）。
3)手術症例でのDC電位の発現と病理所見の相関：手術症例でDC電位およびHFOの発現部位とニューロン・グリアの病理所見を解析し、仮説にあう革新的データを得た（未発表）。
