Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Investigating Vedic texts on the interpretation of the consecration in the Soma sacrifice, a portion of the concept of the symbolic death and life manifested there has been elucidated. Furthermore, I surveyed the modern Vedic priest family having a traditional life in the urban area, Pune. I obtained an interview with the householder and his sons and heard about their circumstances like an operational situation of Vedic rituals, family tree, and so on. Through this survey, the change and continuity found between Brahmanical culture seen in the ancient texts and that of the modern present city were considered.
