Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research new lifelike dolls those are three in the United States, 7 in the U.K., 4 in Germany and 4 in Russia were investigated and the related materials were examined. Those dolls were bought by the foreign visitors in Yokohama or collected at Japanese art dealers in their home towns and after then gifted to the museums, It was traced that the doll makers as Kisaburo Matsumoto and Masakichi Hananuma run their workshop by themselves, excepting Kamehachi Yasumoto whose family had two furter successors. Kamehachi Yasumoto's was well known dollmaker inside and outside the country.
