本年度は、過去2年間進めてきた研究に基づき『ヴェニスの商人』に関する論考を完成させると共に、主として本年度の研究の中心をなす歴史劇について考察を進めた。主な実績は具体的には以下の通りである。
１．論文'Venetian Jasons, parti-coloured lambs and a tainted wether: ovine tropes and the Golden Fleece in The Merchant of Venice'. 本論文はInterweaving myths in Shakespeare and his contemporaries: 'Ariadne's broken woof' (Manchester University Press, 2017)の一章として出版されることが決定している。
２．歴史劇の中でも特に『ヘンリー8世』に焦点を当て、第88会日本英文学会全国大会におけるシンポジアム「演劇制作の現場から 初期近代演劇の「共作」」において、「共作劇として見たHenry VIII」を発表。このシンポジアムを通じて得られた知見を基に本ペイパーを再構成した論文 'A Devil Monk’s Prophecy and the Archbishop’s Encomium: Collaborative Representations of Witchcraft in Henry VIII'。本論文はPOETICA 87(2017）への掲載が決定している。
３．『ハムレット』における神話の取り扱いについての考察をし、その成果の一部を、共同主宰者を務めた9th World Shakespeare CongressにおけるセミナーHamlet 5.1において提示。このセミナーにおいて得られた知見を基に、第55回シェイクスピア学会におけるセミナーThe Second Folio Revisitedにおいて、'Hamlet’s ‘Mobled Queene’: The Second Folio and Memories of Texts'を発表。
