| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
博物学的言説・図版や生物学的言説・顕微鏡的表象の影響および内的連関性を、領域横断的に第一次資料を踏まえて、イギリス・ロマン主義時代の文化の諸領域に探った。平成26 年度は、夥しい数と量の博物学的言説を精読しその多様な基本的主題・モチーフを浮き彫りにした。精読した博物学関連の文献は：William Smellie, The Philosophy of Natural Philosophy, 1791; James Lee, An Introduction to botany,containing an explanation of the theory of that science, 1797; Carl von Linne, Characteres generum plantarum, 1793; Institutions of Entomology, 1773; The Families of Plants, with their natural characters,according to the number, figure, situation, and proportion of all the parts, 1787; A generic and specific description of British Plants,1775; A System of Vegetables according to their classes, genera, orders
species with their characters and differences, in two vols., 1783他。

Reason
「おおむね」としたのは、研究開始当初は、文献収集に多少手間取ったため、成果を出すのに少し遅れをとったためである。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
平成27 年度は、細菌や微生物に関する顕微鏡的言説・図版に注目しつつ、この時代の文学、哲学、思想、政治・宗教パンフレット、美術批評等に伺われるとくに生物学に関わる言説を詳細に分析し個々の特質を明らかにする予定である。精読する文献としては：John Turberville Needham, An Account of some New Microscopical Discoveries, 1745; Observations upon the generation,composition, and decomposition of animal and vegetable substances, 1799; John Ellis, The Natural Historyof Many Curious and Uncommon Zoophytes, 1786; Henry Baker, Microscope Made Easy, 1769等。また論文および招待講演において、研究成果の一部を公表する予定である。

研究は順当に進んだが、わずかの未使用額が残った。
