Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study adopted *ba*-theory based on inseparation of subject and object, orself and others and its main outcome can be summarized as follows: (1)Both verbal and non-verbal communication is strongly influenced by *ba*,(2) Japanese is “*ba*-internal” language whereas English is “*ba*-external”language, and (3) Such difference make the translation difficult. Specifically, this study explored the following aspects in communication in Japanese language: (1) frequent emergence of self-organization in complex system and (2) transition from ergative language to accusative language. This study also explored that difference in the concept of ba could become the obstacles in intercultural communication.
