Outline of Final Research Achievements |
“La Galigo” which is said to be the longest epic in the world has once denied its cultural value by the Darul Islam movement in the 1950s. However, after being recognized as “Memory of the world” by UNESCO in 2011, it has become appraised as a cultural heritage both domestically and abroad. In this research study, attention was paid to the social and cultural activities that occurred in South Sulawesi triggered by the “Memory of the world” nomination of “La Galigo” epic, and examined from the viewpoint of reconstruction and creation of local culture.
