Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, we conducted a survey on residents' consciousness of the locations of the Kashiwazaki Kariwa Nuclear Power Plant (Kashiwazaki City / Kariwa village), surrounding areas (Nagaoka city, Niigata city) and interview survey to leaders in the location area, We have been studying the transformation of life consciousness ,life structure and social structure and the possibility of constructing a regional public sphere based on it. In anticipation of the revitalization of the local economy by the restart of the nuclear power staiton, the regional images which suffered from the search for society "not dependent on nuclear power" was clarified. On the other hand, about 80% of the residents in the surrounding area were intending to take off the nuclear power station, but nearly 50% supported the soft landing of the "not dependent on nuclear Power plant " in the location area. It is difficult to assume that the region will return to the state of "before the 3.11 nuclear accident".
