Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study is to develop a disaster prevention education program that teaches various skills needed in case of a disaster, as a part of other skills taught in the school education. Characteristics of effective behavior in case of a disaster is validated based on the behavioral examples collected mainly from the Great East Japan earthquake. Examples of the special education offered in the primary and middle schools are also collected to identify skills to be trained as a part of the school education. Based on the findings, the relationship among the self-efficacy in case of a disaster and the four abilities that are required to be trained as a part of the school education is studied for primary and middle school students. In sum, the study finds that the self-efficacy in case of a disaster and the ability to work as a team are strongly associated; the effectiveness of the disaster prevention education program that focuses on the training of this relationship is expected.
