Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In this last year of Kakenhi grant we finalize our findings in an extended paper published in Physical Review B. We presnented our main experimental finding of the conservation of magnitude of nuclear magnetization under strong NMR pumping, which overules the traditional view of the nonlinear NMR in the studied systems as arising from the heating of the nuclear spins. We provided a comprehensive theoretical treatment where we showed that indirect nuclear relaxation via the electron spins results in the conservation of the magnitude of the nuclear magnetization vector. We showed that this is equivalent to the uniform precession of nuclear spins, that is a nuclear spin wave with k=0. Thus, our experimental observation can be identified with the Bose-Einstein condensation of the nuclear spin waves.
