詰め将棋の美観評価と創作アルゴリズム

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は,詰め将棋を題材として,美観評価,洗練された作品の創作,長手順作品の創作といった当該分野のグランドチャレンジに挑戦する取り組みである。コンピュータにとっての詰め将棋創作過程では詰め問題の候補となる局面での詰み判定を高速に処理しなければならない。証明数探索(Proof Number Search)はそのための最も優れたアルゴリズムとして知られる。しかし,seesaw effectと呼ばれる欠点が未解決のままであり,本研究ではその欠点を克服する新しいアルゴリズムDeep Proof Number Searchを考案した。また,その性能が従来よりも優れていることを実証した。証明数に現れる作品の持つ複雑さとそれを可能にする初期局面の形と開放度が作品の美観を高めるという専門家の経験則を基に,評価の高い受賞作品群の初期局面を網羅的に分析し,美観評価法および洗練された作品の創作アルゴリズム開発を進めた。エキスパートの感性を取り込むshape keeping heuristicを考案し,それを洗練する工夫を実装することで,難易度の高い洗練された詰め将棋を創作することに成功した。また,現在局面の評価値と探索先読み中に現れる葉局面群の評価値との間の相関に着目することで,局面の難易度を推定する方法を考案し,難易度の高い局面の持続という観点から名局の判定を行った。さらに,作品の美観評価の考え方を適切な投了時機の判断へと応用可能であることを示した。

Reason

AND/OR木探索で得られる証明数および反証数が問題の複雑さの指標となることに着目することで,詰将棋問題の美観との関わりをある程度解明することに成功した。同時に,ミニマックス値の安定度を表す指標である共謀数に着目することで,名局判定に有効であることを示すことができた。当初計画での仮説がほぼ的を得ていたので予想以上の進捗が得られた。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

先に考案したDeep Proof Number Searchをよりスマートな深さ優先型の実装で実現することでさらに当該分野の発展に寄与できる。それによって,長手順の詰め問題作成という大きなチャレンジにさらに近づけるものと期待する。また,証明数と双対の関係にある共謀数に関する性質を解析することで試合の流れを鮮明に理解できるようになり,ゲームをプレイするプロセスまたは詰め問題を解くプロセスで得られる感性についての理解を深めることができるものと期待する。
