Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, I reserched how a word of mousike converges to a meaning of the music. The etymology of music is musica of the Latin. Furthermore, the etymology of musica is mousike of Classical Greek. At first, I made clear that a word of the Classical Greek "mousike" have a etymological meaning of "a thing delivering words of God" in Plato through reading and understanding the Plato's texts. Especially, in "Phaedo", this etymological character appear vividly. But, in Augustine, I caught that a meaning of musica was considerably limited and clarified that "the thing delivering words of God" was nothing but music in latter Augustine.
