Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The second year of my research was focused mainly on international trips (including both conferences and research meetings) and to the elaboration of results. I was able to meet with scholars and practictioners in the field of ADR and to discuss in detail my provisional findings processed during the first year. I took part in 5 national and international conferences in which I either presented the partial findings of the research or I had research meetings with accomplished scholars in the field, including researchers or neighboring areas (economy; history; sociology). The results of the research are presented in three papers (two of which are on peer-reviewed, international publications. One of them is forthcoming). I could effectively demostrate the different approach in EU and Japan by analyzing the best practices in ADR: While the EU is pushing hard to promote ADR, also through the use of lesgislative (i.e. enforceabilty of the agreement, tax breakdowns) and non-legislative (i.e. education about ADR), Japan seems to be way more cautios, especially when the legislation is concerned.
