Outline of Annual Research Achievements

LHCの第2期実験(13TeV)の全データの解析を強化するとともに、2年目を迎えた第3期実験(13.6TeV)で取得されたデータの解析を実施した。第3期実験あるいはそれ以降の実験で得られる高統計データを用いて、ヒッグス粒子を通して真空・時空の謎に挑む。1年目のデータを用いたヒッグス粒子の生成断面積の測定の結果を6月に発表し、新しい重心系エネルギーにおいても標準模型と無矛盾であることが分かった。ヒッグス粒子、言い換えると、この新しい真空状態が関係する新現象は何か? を国際活動支援班が中心となって、領域外の海外研究者と進めた。6月には博多で「Workshop for Tera-Scale Physics and Beyond」(https://indico.cern.ch/event/1279566/)をハイブリッド形式で実施した。約130名の国内外の研究者のうち48名が現地参加であった。ワークショップではLHCの最新結果とともに新しい素粒子、真空、時空に関する活発な議論を行った。また、10月にはATLAS実験グループのヒッグス粒子に関する研究を行っているワーキンググループのワークショップを東京大学で開催した。国内外の約170名の研究者(現地約120名)が集まり、第2期と第3期実験、さらには将来のLHC計画におけるヒッグス粒子に関するデータ解析に関して活発な議論を行った。最終日には公開講演も実施し、理論・実験の専門家を交えて将来の展望について議論を行った。
