| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
To understand the importance of Lipid Quality (LipoQuality) in biological systems, we developed a steering group including 5 research support centers that help to promote the LipoQuality program project efficiently by sharing methods, technologies and resources for all members including those who had little experience in lipid biology research. Especially the advanced lipidomics platform played important roles by developing the cutting-edge analytical technologies and bioinformatics to accelerate the whole program. Moreover, we organized annual project meetings, homepage, lipid database, newsletters, international symposia, workshop for young scientists, to prevail our research concept and achievements of this program project.

脂質分子の質的違い（リポクオリティの違い）に注目する研究は黎明期にあり、世界的に見ても個々の研究者が個別の研究を進めている状況であった。本総括班の形成によりもたらされた成果は、脂質の構造多様性を読み解くための革新的な分析・可視化技術を軸に、脂質分子種の多様性の生物学的意義についての学術的理解を与え、次世代のライフイノベーション研究に独創的な波及効果をもたらすことが期待される。
