Research Abstract |
Protein dynamics highly relevant to biological function were studied with time-resolved resonance Raman spectroscopy. Our effort on developments on the measurement system enabled us to perform site-specific observation on structural changes of proteins in wide time range from picoseconds to milliseconds. We elucidated functionally-important dynamics of various allosteric proteins such as hemoglobins, heme-based gas sensors, and photoactive proteins with the high performance of the system.
