Research Abstract |
In this study, mail surveys on the experience of international cooperation activities were conducted twice in 1996 and 1997. In the first survey, responses from 44, 834 people in 306 universities and research centres as well as 2,825 elementary, lower and upper secondary schools were collected. In the second survey, 1,571 and 951 university and school teachers respectively responded to the questionnaire. Many university teachers had the experience of studying abroad and research work undertaken at foreign universities. They also expressed their keen interest in international cooperation activities. The major problems they would envisaged if they were asked to go to developing countries for international cooperation activities are those related to their present working place.
