| Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to present an evaluation method of opening-and/or-closing characteristics of doors from a viewpoint of easiness in passing.
At first, we composed evaluation scales in opening-and/or-closing doors by means of sensory tests, and we presented basic findings that the main factors which influence easiness in passing are prensence of closing operation, velocity in passing, and types of doors. Next, we measured acceleration, force, and displacement of doors in opening-and/or-closing movement, for Quantification of mechanical characteristics of doors.
Then, we considered the relationships between the evaluation scales and mechanical force data in various acceleration levels and opening positions of doors. We clarified that opening-and/or-closing characteristics can be Quantified as the average value of dynamic forces which are measured at suitable range of acceleration levels and opening positions of doors. Finally, we presented relative evaluation method of opening-and/or-closing characteristics of doors which can be applied to any kinds doors and doorknobs, and to any opening-and/or-closing situations of doors.
