Research Abstract |
This research was carried out to gasify biomass efficiently by physical mixing of black liquor. Applicants showed clearly that gasification speed was remarkably promoted during CO_2 gasification and steam gasification of mixture of black liquor and biomass because sodium in black liquor acted as a gasification catalyst. And, it was confirmed that sodium which is the chemical for pulp tissue dissolution process was recovered as a residue. Moreover, the influence of black liquor on tar produced under pyrolysis/gasification of biomass was investigated, and it is revealed that black liquor was quite effective to suppress the tar. These results mean that co-gasification of black liquor and biomass can become efficient conversion process of biomass.
