| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to develop a continuing education support system in nursing for patient safety.There were three stages to achieve the purpose:（a）Clarifying measures that midwifes, clinical instructors for nursing student, preceptors for new graduate nurse and nurse managers use to improve patient safety by qualitative and inductive method. (b）Developing four self-evaluation scales on practices for patient safety by the based on qualitative and inductive research findings. (c）Developing the continuing education support system in nursing through integrating these research findings.
This system will support to plan the educational programs evidence-based for patient safety.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的意義は、医療事故防止のための助産師、新人看護師指導者、実習指導者、看護師長の実践知の解明と解明した実践知に基づく信頼性と妥当性を確保した尺度を開発できたことである。また、社会的意義は次の２点に集約される。①院内教育担当者が開発した尺度を用い、各看護職者の果たす役割に適合した医療事故防止に向けた教育プログラムを根拠に基づき立案できる。②このような教育プログラム立案支援につながるシステムの開発は、看護職者の医療事故防止能力向上に貢献し、医療事故の低減につながる。
