Outline of Final Research Achievements

We have many home appliances in living space and working space, in other words, they cover our lives. Then, unions of these appliances (or these power adapters attached some sensors) can monitor what we are doing, it is not exactly, but to a certain extent we do. In this study, we analyze and classify these sensor data using many methods. In some methods, for example, SVM(Support Vector Machine), we can classify only two patterns such as "in house/out house", and in experiments using deep learning, we can classify more details.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

人の生活空間には多数の家電とその電源アダプタが存在する。電源アダプタに各種環境センサを付けてその情報を集めれば、生活者に手間もストレスも与えない形と精度でその生活をモニタリングできるはずである。柔軟で包括的に生活状況(就寝・外出・食事中など)を認識し、その時々に応じて自動で家電の電源をON/OFFできれば、省エネルギーを達成しながら同時に生活を豊かにする事になる。本研究では電源アダプタに付随させた環境センサから、本当に生活状況分類ができるかを検討し、深層学習を使えば約9割の分類精度がある事を明らかにした。更なる分類精度向上、あるいは1割の誤判定込みでどう家電制御するかが今後の課題である。
