| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I conducted a network analysis of R & D collaboration in the automobile industry, and examined the transition of R & D initiatives about collaboration networks. As a result, two facts were confirmed. First, the diversity of researchers in high-impact inventions is increasing year by year. Second, the initiatives for R & D collaboration are shifting from automakers to giant IT companies, emerging electric vehicle makers, and venture companies.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的意義は、自動車産業における研究開発構造が資源依存、制度的同型化、機会主義への制裁に代表される系列の組織間関係のフレームワークから、オープンイノベーションの組織間関係のそれへと急速に転換しつつあることを認識できたことである。つまり、研究開発における組織間関係のパラダイム・シフトが確認できた。また、社会的意義は、自動車産業での研究開発における自動車メーカーの存在意義が著しく低下し、一方で、大学やI T企業、ベンチャー企業の協働関係を構築するイニシアティブが飛躍的に増大していることを明示したことである。日本の基幹産業において、日系企業の競争力の低下が切実に危惧されるところである。
