Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study confirmed that the desire to identify oneself and to form the way of life by their own perspective develops during the time of the junior high school and the high school. It advances with mutual influence with the course decision task.
However, the score of an interdependent person were kept higher among their adolescents. In their case, the meaning of being independent were dealt with ambiguously.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究の意義の第一は,まず,10代におけるアイデンティティ発達の様相を横断的・縦断的に検討し,その特徴を明らかにした点である。そこから,中高一貫校も含め,進路選択という“節目”において,アイデンティティ発達が促されることが確認された。
第二は,そのような個を基調とする自己意識の発達が,協調性への意識の高さを低下させることなく進むことを明らかにした点である。そしてそれらは,個人の内面において両立・統合,あるいは葛藤した形で,独自の自己意識の様相を形成していた。
