| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this reserch is to consider to the cultural influence of globalized entertainment. Using the example of Japanese-style idol training groups that have expanded into China and the activities of their fan communities, attention is placed on the non-formal education (learning) and informal education (learning) aspects of their activities, which are the key points of this study. For this purpose, The authors have been gathering data and observing participants in Shanghai for a number of years.
Through the several series of processes, an awareness may be reached that becoming an idol and being a fan of an idol, which is an activity that can be viewed at a glance as simply a “leisure-time activity for geeks,” actually has a social activity aspect that promotes self-development, and has significance in terms of lifelong learning.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究の学術的・社会的意義は、我が国由来の育成型アイドルグループの中国における展開が現地の中国の若者に対してどのような影響を与えうるかを、インフォーマル教育の論理的枠組みを用いて参与観察を通じて検証・分析し、その可能性について考察した点にある。
観察対象は主にそこで活動するアイドル自身とそれを応援するファンコミュニティ及びファン個人であるが、いずれの側にもアイデンティティの拠り所としての「居場所」意識の醸成及び自己肯定感の発揚が確認できた。立場こそ違うが、ごく普通の若者が連帯することによる等身大の共感と自己形成、これこそが我が国若者文化がもたらした積極的意義であると考えられる。
