Outline of Final Research Achievements	We developed a special neutral density filter to observe very bright near infrared stars in the day time. This filter has a transparency of 0.05 % for the wavelength range of 1.0 - 2.5 micro meters. Using this filter, the sky brightness is reasonably attenuated and near-infrared detectors are not saturated even in the day time. We installed this filter to the IRSF 1.4m telescope and simultaneous JHKs band camera SIRIUS. We obtained the image of Eta Carinae in the day time.
Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements	これまで、近赤外線天体観測において、非常に明るい天体であれば昼間であっても観測できることは、研究者であれば誰でも知っていた。しかし、実際に観測をするためには、専用のフィルタの製作など特別な手段が必要であり、これまで実際に実施した例は少ない。本研究では、実際に専用フィルタを開発し、昼間であっても観測が実施できることを確認した。これにより、銀河系内超新星などの非常に明るいが、極めて稀な天体現象が昼間の時間帯に起きたとしても観測できる準備が整った。
