Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Focusing on the 9th to 10th centuries, which correspond to the early Heian period, this study tried to clarify the characteristics of the construction situation from the viewpoint of the history of architectural activities, comparing with the previous Nara period and the late Heian period. Targeted at government-owned organizations mainly responsible for construction and the construction division organization set up at each temple, this study comprehensively considered the actual construction situation of the form, based on each point such as people's participation and opportunities, collecting historical materials.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、奈良時代から平安時代への変遷を目標とした、建築史分野におけるひとつのミッシングリンクである。平安時代の建築生産については、史料的制約のために多くが不明ながらも、特に専門的に携わる人物や組織の活動については一定の既往研究の蓄積がある。しかし、そのような平安時代の建築生産像の多くは、平安貴族の隆盛によって造営活動が活発であった10世紀以降の平安時代後期に相当するものであるため、本研究では、従来はあまり述べられることのなかった平安時代前期を対象として研究を行った点に第一の社会的意義がある。
