Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research, we have developed a soft actuator that can be flexible near liquid nitrogen temperature (77K). To realize a soft actuator for an extreme environment, a welding technology of polyimide (PI) films was fabricated and evaluated. By using this technology, PI balloon and PI bending soft-actuator were realized. The actuator has succeeded in driving around -195 degrees Celsius, which was impossible to realize with conventional soft actuators.
