Outline of Final Research Achievements

This project aims to develop systems to promote health and body measurement by fixed depth sensor as well as to support persons to move safely by attaching the sensor to the body.
We successfully developed systems for calisthenics evaluation and automatic evaluation of SIAS in rehabilitation objectives.
Also, for mobile application, automatic floor detection algorithm was refined to be applicable in cluttered area.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

深度センサは容易に入手できるデバイスであるが、その特性を生かして、老若男女、健常者から病後の人まで、健康状態のチェックから安全確保、健康促進に至るまで様々な段階で役立てることができるよう、いくつかの具体的なシステムにおいてシステムのプロトタイプの提示を行った。特に、深度センサの基本的機能である、深度計測値をベースにした応用と、一部の深度センサに搭載された関節(骨格)検知機能を用いた応用両面を意識して開発した。この研究において開発した様々な技術をもとに、今後様々な生活空間の中で深度センサを中心としたシステムが開発されていく可能性が高まった。
